The National Museum, founded in 1818 by Kašpar Maria Šternberg, is the largest museum in the Czech Republic covering a range of disciplines and collecting fields from the natural sciences to specialized areas of the social sciences.
The National Museum includes five different museums:
- the Natural History Museum
- the Historical Museum
- the National Museum Library
- the Czech Museum of Music
