The National Museum, founded in 1818 by Kašpar Maria Šternberg, is the largest museum in the Czech Republic covering a range of disciplines and collecting fields from the natural sciences to specialized areas of the social sciences.

The National Museum includes five different museums: 

  • the Natural History Museum
  • the Historical Museum
  • the National Museum Library
  • the Czech Museum of Music
  • The Náprstek Museum of Asian, African and American Cultures. See also:
