Orlik Castle

Castles & Country Houses, Private Collections
Orlík Castle dates back to the 13th century as a royal castle and came, via inheritance, into the hands of the princes of Schwarzenberg in 1717. Presently it is owned by the family again and open to the public.

The interiors are mainly in Empire style and displaying the family's art collection. Noteworthy are the Greater and Lesser Knight's Halls, the Hunting Hall, the Blue and the Empire Saloons, the Library and the Gun Corridor.

Adjoining the chateau is a 143 hectares English-style large park and a greenhouse with a collection of fuchsias. The Pseudo-Gothic Schwarzenberg vault is in the western part of the park.
