Paxton House, a beautiful Adam mansion, has been placed since 1988 in a Historic Buildings Preservation Trust and opened up to the public, by John David Home Robertson.

What is now held by the Trust is the majority of the collection formed by one family who continuously owned Paxton House for 230 years. It houses a magnificent collection of Chippendale and Trotter furniture, silver and many treasures including paintings from the National Galleries of Scotland.

The House is surrounded by 32 ha (80 acres) of gardens and grounds. The garden has a Victorian aspect with shrubs, specimen trees and a herbaceous border near the house.

Paxton House is also a venue for film & photo shooting, cultural, corporate and private events, such as concerts, receptions, weddings...
