Pillnitz Castle

Castles & Country Houses, Event, Film & Wedding Hire, Gardens & Parks, Museums & Art Centres
Pillnitz Castle was the summer residence of many electors and kings of Saxony, in particular for their mistresses. Today, the palace houses the Palace Museum and the Arts and Crafts Museum of the Dresden State Art Collections.

In fact the Pillnitz Castle complex consists of three main buildings, the Riverside Palace (Wasserpalais) on the riverfront, the Upper Palace (Bergpalais) on the hillside, both Baroque with Chinoiserie elements and the late New Palace (Neues Palais) in Neoclassical style.

The castles are surrounded by a beautiful park of 28 ha, Baroque style and English landscape style, with many botanical species from all over the world.

Pillnitz Castle is also a venue for cultural, corporate and private events such as concerts, summer festivals, weddings...
