Renishaw Hall has been home to the Sitwell family for nearly 400 years. The Hall, with the spectacular family collections of art and furniture, the beautiful gardens and the Sidwell Museum, are open to the public.

Renishaw is still very much a family home which adds to its unique atmosphere.

The famous literary trio, Edith, Osbert, and Sacheverell Sitwell were all patrons of the arts and played a significant part in the artistic and literary world at the beginning of the 20th century.
Over 115 years ago Sir George Sitwell created what is today one of the most important classical Italianate gardens in Britain. Ornamental ponds , a spectacular fountain, secret garden rooms, classical statues, overflowing borders and long vistas all feature strongly in these totally unique gardens. The kids will love the Children’s Garden with the living willow tunnel and lots of places for hide and seek.

In the Stable Block you can visit the Sitwell Museum, Gallery Café and Gift Shop and an exhibition featuring the amazing collections of Sir Osbert Sitwell, many items have never been seen before including works by Picasso, Rex Whistler, Dylan Thomas and Wilfred Owen.

The recently renovated function room attached to The Cafe makes a wonderful setting for any meeting, conference or celebration. It can hold up to 45 people for a meeting or sit-down meal, or up to 60 for a reception or finger-buffet meal.

Many exciting events take place during the year so look at the website or ring for details.
