Rochlitz Castle

Rochlitz Castle is used as a museum with its noble residential and representation rooms. The first documented evidence goes back to 1009 and was further closely linked to the Wettins for centuries until the 19th century when it became the location of the District and Local Courts.
When the castle went into the possession of the Free State of Saxony in 1995, extensive reconstruction works were planned and carried out until 2012 in order to accommodate the present museum.
Rochlitz is also a venue for corporate and private events, such as receptions, weddings...
