Royal Carillon School Mechelen

The Royal Carillon School Mechelen (Koninklijke Beiaardschool), founded in 1922 by the carillonneur Jef Denyn, was in fact It was the first of its kind in the world. Great names supported the school financially such as Herbert Hoover, John D. Rockefeller, Jr. and William Gorham Rice.

The school attracts students from all over the world looking to perfect the art of carillon playing.

The school holds every five years The International Queen Fabiola Music Competition for Carillon, which is the most important in its kind. The late Queen Fabiola was its patron.
