Schönbrunn Palace
With the reestablishment of the Austrian republic in 1955, the palace became again a museum and is a major tourist attraction for visitors from all over the world. The whole Schönbrunn complex including the Tiergarten, Palmenhaus,Wüstenhaus and the Wagenburg is attrackting several million visitors every year.
Allthough already in the hands of the Habsburgs since 1569, the palace, in its present form, was built and remodelled (1740–50s) during the reign of empress Maria Theresia. She had received the estate as a wedding gift.
For anyone, visiting or living in Vienna the Schönbrunn Palace, the Imperial Furniture Collection, the Vienna Hofburg with the Imperial Apartments, Sisi Museum and the Imperial Silver Collection, are a must in order to get a better understanding of the country.
Schönbrunn Palace is also a venue for film & photo shooting, cultural, corporate and private events, such as concerts, receptions, weddings...
