Tarasp Castle

Castles & Country Houses, Music, Private Collections
Castle Tarasp, dating back to the 11th century, belonged until 1803 to Austria. In the year 1900, the inventor of the mouthwash Odol, Karl August Lingner, acquired it and had it completely restored and furnished.

After his death, the property was bequeathed to the princes of Hesse, who in the context of the present foundation as proprietor, still take care of the castle complex today.

Castle Tarasp is open to the public since 1919, where it can admire the knights' halls and ballrooms, old bedrooms, the castle chapel and the organ with its 2,500 pipes. The castle offers public organ concerts and guided tours.
