Thorvaldsens Museum

Museums & Art Centres
The Thorvaldsens Museum is dedicated to the Danish sculptor and medalist Bertel Thorvaldsen (1770 – 1844), who lived and worked in Rome for most of his life. The museum is full of exciting stories about the art, architecture, collections and about Bertel Thorvaldsen himself.

Thorvaldsen created works of art for Napoleon, the Pope and many other royal families of Europe.

Via the female line, the family still lives on today, whereas the museum has still links with them.
