Museums & Art Centres
Van Gogh Museum, opened in 1973, is dedicated to the works of Vincent van Gogh and his contemporaries, and contains the largest collection of Van Gogh's paintings and drawings in the world. The buildings were designed by the architects Gerrit Rietveld and Kisho Kurokawa.
The collection originates from what van Gogh left after his death to his brother Vincent, and finally acquired by the state from his descendants, including paintings, drawings and letters.
