Villa Cimbrone, a historic noble villa and today a hotel, dates back to the 11th century. It was transformed early 20th century by the British politician Lord Grimthorpe into an important construction, surrounded by an English style garden.
The site has been visited by several historic personalities, such as Richard and Cosima Wagner in 1880.
The historic estate has been rescued from decay by the Vuilleumier family since the 1960s.
