It has been in the hands of several historic families, such as the Machiavelli family, the Corsini, the Orlandini del Beccuto, the Antinori and the finally the Braccagni Maggiali family until 1999. In that year it was bought by to Maurizio Zamparini, the Palermo football president.

The estate is has also a farm and winery.

The villa is available for cultural, corporate and private events, such as concerts, meetings and conferences.
