Vorwerk und Herrenhaus Briest

Castles & Country Houses, Gardens & Parks, Music, Private Collections
Briest Manor is the eldest seat, since 1345, of the historic von Bismarck family. It is a complex of buildings built in late Renaissance style and surrounded by a park in English and French landscape style, created in 1849 by the well known garden architect Schaumburg.

The latter created parts of the gardens of Herrenhausen Palace in Hannover. When the family was able to take over the estate again after the fall down the DDR, everything was in a deplorable state. Presently a considerable part of the complex has been restored. The church is used also for concerts.

The manor and park can be visited on request.

For visiting, see telephone number and email.
