The Zeeuws Museum, located in the historic former abbey at the heart of Middelburg, is dedicated to the history of Zeeland. The museum contains a stunning collection of tapestries, historic costumes and many other characteristic items for the region.
The former Premonstratensian abbey was built in the 12th century on a pre-existing Carolingian construction, but reconstructed in the late Medieval Gothic style in the 16th century, after a fire.
