Hudertwasser, whose real name was Friedrich Stowasser, wanted an architecture without straight lines, combined with bright colours, fantasy shapes and close to nature.

The museum houses the world's only permanent exhibition of his works, but also offers regular temporary exhibitions with works of other artists.
