Alvar Aalto Museum

The Alvar Aalto Museum, founded in 1966, is dedicated to the work of the Finnish architect and designer Alvar Aalto (1898 – 1976). It is housed in a building designed by Aalto and completed in 1973.
The museum organises exhibitions, and produces design and architecture publications.
The collections include all kind of items designed by Aalto, paintings, drawings, a photo archive, a newspaper archive, a library and the archive of Aalto's correspondence.
The Alvar Aalto Museum also owns the Aalto House and Studio in Helsinki, as well as the Muuratsalo Experimental House on the island of Muuratsalo, in lake Päijänne.
