Arundel Castle
Between the 1870s and 1890s the house was almost completely rebuilt and the magnificent architecture in Gothic style is considered to be one of the great works of Victorian England.
Arundel has a finely preserved interior with its fascinating furniture, tapestries and rare collection of paintings by renowned artists including Van Dyck, Gainsborough and Canaletto.
The 40 acres of gardens offer a great variety of gardens, such as a vinery, nineteenth century walled kitchen garden, cut flower border, Fitzalan Chapel with its own white garden, a rose garden, the Stumpery with its quirky design and The Collector Earl's Garden, opened in 2008, as a memorial to the 14th Earl of Arundel, who was a keen art collector.
