The Book Museum - SLUB (Buchmuseum) is the regional library as well as the library for the Dresden University of Technology, including the Book Museum with a space for temporary exhibitions and a treasury room.
One of the' treasures' is the Codex Dresdensis, a manuscript of the oldest book written about the Maya Americas, dating from 1200AD. It was acquired in 1739 by Elector Friedrich August.
