The Castle of Trani  (Castello di Trani) was built as part of an impressive defensive system of Emperor Frederick II of Swabia (1194 – 1250) to protect the Kingdom of Sicily. The Castle Museum displays stone and pottery items, which were found during the restorations in the 20th century.

The Castello di Trani operates under Direzione regionale musei Puglia, which promotes and coordinates the museums in Puglia.
