The Château de Fontainebleau, originally a medieval castle, served as residence for the French monarchs. It was the preferred residence of Napoleon and it was here where he abdicated. With its endless treasures of art and culture the palace and park are open to the public.
The visitors can admire the Apartments, the Galleries and Theatre, the three Chapels, the four Museums, the Courtyards and Gardens.
