Museums & Art Centres
The Faure Museum, established in 1949, contains the second collection in France of works by Rodin and the second collection of impressionists. The basis of the collection is the private collection of Doctor Jean Faure (1862-1942), which he bequeathed to the city.
Docteur Faure made his fortune with the well known 'Elixir Bonjean', and became an enthusiastic art collector, advised for a substantial part by the art gallerist and expert André Schoeller
