Museums & Art Centres, Music
The Franz Liszt Museum was once the home of Franz Liszt (1811 – 1886), the extraordinary musician, who lived here between 1881 and 1886. This house was the "old" Academy of Music. Liszt's original instruments, books and furniture are also on display here.
The building was used from late 1875 until mid-1907 for music teaching of the Academy of Music, of which Liszt was the founding president and professor. He did not accept any salary for his teaching, but got a service apartment here.
The museum is also a venue for concerts.
