Hughenden Manor & Garden

Castles & Country Houses, Gardens & Parks
Hughenden Manor was the home of Queen Victoria's high regarded Prime Minister, Benjamin Disraeli, 1st Earl of Beaconsfield, from 1848 until 1881. The house had been redesigned in 1862 by the celebrated architect Edward Buckton Lamb.

The house is since 1947 in the hands of the National Trust.

Hughenden Manor contains a collection of family memorabilia including portraits, Disraeli's own furnishings, a library...

The manor is surrounded by 607 ha (1,500 acres) park and woodlands, whereas the formal garden has been restored as they were at the time of Lord and Lady Beaconsfield. The latter had designed the garden herself.
