Inverewe Garden
Castles & Country Houses, Gardens & Parks
Inverewe Garden was created by Osgood Mackenzie in 1862, on a 850 hectares (2,100 acres) estate, a present to him from his mother. Since 1952 it was given to the National Trust, together with an important endowment by Osgood's daughter Mairi Sawyer.
Today, the sub-tropical Garden covers around 20 ha (49 acres) and the rest of the estate covers 2,000 acres.
