Matisse Museum

Matisse Museum, opened in 1963, displays a great number of works by Matisse, as well as paintings by Auguste Herbin, Geneviève Claisse, a part of the Tériade artists'book collection and photographs from the Henri Cartier-Bresson collection.
In 2013, the ceramic La Piscine, a gift from Claude and Barbara Duthuit, was installed in a dedicated room.
The Museum, installed in an old Genovese villa, regularly hosts temporary exhibits.
The Musée Matisse is part of the vast patrimonial complex of the Cimiez site, including Roman arenas and ruins, a garden, as well as the Cimiez monastery.
