The Musée Rodin, opened in 1919, is dedicated to the work of the world renowned sculptor Auguste Rodin (1840 – 1917), who donated his whole collection, including the Hôtel Biron and his Villa des Brillants at Meudon, to the state.
Many of his famous works found an appropriate setting in the garden of Hôtel Biron, built from 1727 to 1732 and designed by of the architect Jean Aubert.
