Museums & Art Centres
The Natural History Museum is dedicated to the history of life on Earth, from the smallest insects to the largest mammals. The museum is also a centre of research and is particularly well known for the collection of the naturalist Charles Darwin (1809 – 1882) and its collection of dinosaur skeletons.
The impressive building, completed in 1880 and mainly designed by Alfred Waterhouse, is also interesting by the extensive use of architectural terracotta tiles.
