The Pinacoteca di Brera has one of the leading art collections in Italy, with modern and classic paintings, a drawing cabinet and a photographic library. The museum is housed in the Brera Palace, built in the 16th and 17th centuries.
In the museum's courtyard is a bronze statue of Napoleon, who turned Brera into a public gallery.
