Museums & Art Centres
The Swansea Museum is the oldest museum in Wales. It was created in 1841 for and by the Royal Institution of South Wales, to house its large number of collections as well as provide research and learning facilities.

The museum displays a variety of exhibits from an ancient mummy’s tomb to temporary exhibitions on current issues and modern interests.

In 2016 a lost study for the Jacob Jordaens painting 'Meleager and Atalanta' was discovered in the BBC4 programme 'Britain's Lost Masterpieces.

Apart from the seat of the museum, it has three additional operations: the Landore Collections Centre, the Marina and the Tramshed on the Dylan Thomas Square.
