Treborth Botanic Garden

Gardens & Parks
Treborth Botanic Garden, covering today 18ha (44 acres), was originally planned in the 1840s and designed by the celebrated Joseph Paxton. However, due to lack of funding, the project was abandoned.

The present garden, in  the hands of Bangor University of Wales, dates back to the 1960s, comprising 15ha of native woodland, 2ha of species rich unimproved grassland and 1ha managed orchard and many mature trees and shrubs.

There are also six glasshouses with special collections including orchids, cacti, succulents and carnivorous plants. T

The outside garden has free access to the public at all times. However the glasshouses are open at selected times.
