Vatican Gardens, covering around 23 hectares (57 acres), were created during the Renaissance and Baroque, with later additions. The gardens can be visited only by guided tours.
It houses a great variety of buildings, monuments, flower beds, sculptures...
Some of these buildings are the Governor's Palace, Villa Pia and Radio Vatican.
The beautiful Villa Pia, designed mainly by Pirro Ligorio, was completed in 1562 and houses the Pontifical Academy of Science.
