Vienna Clock Museum (Uhrenmuseum)

Museums & Art Centres
The Vienna Clock Museum (Uhrenmuseum), part of the Wien Museum, features an important collection of time pieces, containing around seven hundred clocks from around the globe. The original collection dates back to 1917, mainly from two private collections.

The first was brought together by Rudolf Kaftan, a secondary-school teacher and the museum’s first director. The second collector was the renowned writer Marie von Ebner-Eschenbach, who had a collection of precious pocket watches.
