Blaafarveværket- Cobalt Works and Mines is an industrial museum dedicated to the history of the former Cobalt production mine, which was once the biggest industrial operation in Norway (1773- 1893). Cobalt was used in the production of cobalt blue pigment for the worldwide porcelain and glass industry.
The industrial museum is currently made up of 60 different buildings, mines, internal roads and bridges, in an area of 40 ha.
