Castle Popta-Heringastate

Castle Popta-Heringastate is an example of a noble residence from the Northern Netherlands. Build in 1512 by the Heringa family. It was leagued to a charity foundation, the 'Poptagasthuis'.
The foundation was founded by dr. Hendricus Popta, the last private inhabitant of the castle. Today it is used as a museum.
