Antiques & Art Galleries
E.H. Ariëns Kappers Gallery's focus is on Prints.

In 1980 I opened the door of my shop in Amsterdam in the so-called Spiegel Quarter. A corner of the old city right nearby the Rijksmuseum, the national gallery of art. As many art dealers I started as a collector of prints.During my study of History of Art at the University of Amsterdam I tried to find all kinds of prints by artists I was interested in. During and after my study I worked as assistant-curator in the print room of the Theatre Museum in Amsterdam. After a while however I wanted to do something different. My specialty during my study was printmaking in Holland around 1900. And of course that field is still special to me. Prints by Willem Witsen, Samuel Jessurun de Mesquita, Jan Toorop and others are always available. However I never neglected the Old Masters. Prints by Rembrandt, Van Ostade, Goltzius, Matham, after Breughel and many others you can find in my stock. In 2012 I closed the shop and moved to: Prinsengracht 677 where we work by appointment only.

We are members of several organizations such as the International Fine Print Dealers Association, the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers, the Association of Fine Art Dealers in the Netherlands and Spiegelkwartier. We participate in Fairs such as the Tefaf in Maastricht, IFPDA Print Fair in New York and the PAN Amsterdam.
