Hampton Court Palace has a long and interesting history. It is, together with the St Jame's Palace, the only surviving two palaces out of many from Henry VIII. It is a major tourist attraction.

It was under King Wiliam III and Queen Mary that the palace was transformed as we know it today, a mixture of Tudor and Baroque styles. The transformation of the palace and gardens were designed by George London and Daniel Marot. The gardens were enriched with a network of avenues and two important parterres.

The palace, managed by the Historic Royal Palaces, is fully furnished and contains many works of art from the Royal Collection.

Other points of interest: the royal tennis court, the grape vine, the celebrated maze, the annual Hampton Court Flower Show and the annual Hampton Court Palace Festival, presenting artists across the music genres, such as Elton John, Dame Kiri Te Kawana...
