The Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, opened in 1901 and completely refurbished in 2003-2006, features 22 galleries with a wide range of stunning collections including arms and armour, natural history, an art collection with outstanding European masterworks from many art movements, art from Ancient Egypt, decorative arts...

Some of the highlights are the Salvador Dali masterpiece ‘Christ of St John of the Cross’, the Asian elephant Sir Roger, a Spitfire plane hanging from the ceiling of the west court, the French Impressionists with works of Monet, Renoir, van Gogh, etc., the many Old Master pieces such as works by Rembrandt, Vecello, de Lairesse, or works of the Scottish Colourists.
