Musée Marmottan Monet
Museums & Art Centres
The Musée Marmottan Monet contains the world's leading collections of the works of Claude Monet (1840 – 1926) and Berthe Morisot (1841 – 1895), a significant collection of modern art, as well as impressive collections from the art of the Middle Ages & Renaissance and the arts of early 19th century.
The mansion was acquired by Jules Marmottan in 1882, a wealthy industrialist and art collector. His son Paul expanded his father's collection and bequeathed his house and collection to the Académie des Beaux-Arts, who opened it in 1934 as the Museum Marmottan.
