Villa Manin

Castles & Country Houses, Gardens & Parks, Museums & Art Centres, Music
Villa Manin was built for the Manin family in the 17th century, but has been modified several times, as has been its 19 ha garden. Today the furnished villa is a museum, including a collection of carriages and armoury.

The villa was the private residence of the last Doge (Ludovico Manin) of Venice (18th century), and Napoleon stayed here with his wife Josephine de Beauharnais, in relation with the negotiations and signing of his treaty with Austria, the Treaty of Campofiormo.

The villa, in public hands since 1962, has hosted many prestigious exhibitions, conventions and concerts.
