The Alcazar de los Reyes Cristianos has an ancient and rich history linked to the Romans, the Visigoths, the Moorish occupations, and the post-Reconquista area, whereas the famous Ferdinand and Isabella used the palace as their main residence.
After the Reconquista it was Alfonso XI of Castile, who started rebuilding the site in 1328;
The historic couple Ferdinand and Isabella met Columbus here in 1492, and it housed one of the first permanent tribunals of the Inquisition.
The gardens consist of three levels: the upper garden, the middle garden and the lower garden and include pools, fountains, sculptures representing different monarchs, the 'King's Walk', among them the Christian Kings...
