Castles & Country Houses, Gardens & Parks
Brodick Castle dates back to the 13th century and was previously the seat of the Dukes of Hamilton. The 12th Duke had no male heirs. Upon the death of his only daughter, the Dowager Duchess of Montrose, Brodick Castle was given to the National Trust in lieu of death duties in 1958.
The castle contains a stunning collection of period furniture, silverware, porcelain, paintings and sporting trophies.
The castle has great woodland gardens with a beautiful walled garden.
