Castles & Country Houses, Gardens & Parks
Canons Ashby was built early 16th century on the remains of a medieval priory by the Dryden family. Since 1981 it is in the hands of the National Trust. The house is surrounded by restored 18th century gardens.
The house and gardens are presented as they used to be at the time of Sir Henry Dryden, a Victorian antiquary. The house displays grand rooms, Elizabethan wall paintings, stunning tapestries and Jacobean plasterwork.
