Le château de Tanlay
Castles & Country Houses, Private Collections
Le château de Tanlay is a beautiful Renaissance castle with a long history. Today, although privately owned by Count and Countess de La Chauvinière, it can be visited by guided tours.
Via the well know de Coligny family, the property came into the hands of Michel Particeli d'Hemery, the 'surintendant de finance' under Mazarin, in 1700. Since then, the property has remained in the family of d'Hemery, who was created marquis de Tanlay in 1705.
The present owner inherited Tanley from his mother, Marguerite de Tanley.
