Castles & Country Houses, Museums & Art Centres
The Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature is a private museum of huntings and nature, displaying over five thousand related objects, including pictures, furniture, arms, graphics, ceramics, photographs, sculptures, tapestries...

The museum, housed in two adjacent historic mansions, the Hôtel de Guénégaud and the neighbouring Hôtel de Montgelas, is owned by the François Sommer Foundation. The foundation was established by François Sommer (1904-1973) and his wife Jacqueline (1913-1993), who collected for over half a century.

The museum has a very active cultural program: visits, workshops, conferences, the night-time cycle on Wednesday nights, conferences. In addition, it conducts an active policy of scientific partnerships, through curatorships, loans of works, publications and symposiums.

The Hôtel de Guénégaud, built between 1651 and 1655 by the famous architect François Mansart, is the only hôtel particulier designed by him which has fully survived.
