Rosersberg Palace (Royal Palace)

Castles & Country Houses, Gardens & Parks
Rosersberg Palace was built by the Oxenstierna family in the 1630s before it became a royal palace in 1762. It contains well-preserved interiors and collections  from the 1795-1825 period and is surrounded by a large park.

The first king and queen of the Bernadotte line, King Karl XIV Johan and Queen Desideria, spent many summers at Rosersberg.

The park, which dates back to the end of the 17th century (by Tessin the Younger), was one of the most important gardens in Sweden, however much of it disappeared.

The palace is open in conjunction with guided tours. The park is open year round.

Rosersberg Palace is in addition partly used a a hotel. (see aslo: https://www.rosersbergsslott.se/en/about-us/)
