Trebon Castle, a former property of the princes of Schwarzenberg, is a 120 room castle in the middle of the city and surrounded by an English landscape park. It belongs to the state and is open to the public.
The castle is displaying the life of the former inhabitants, mainly the Rožmberk and the Schwarzenberg families, through the Rožmberk Renaissance interiors and the private Schwarzenberg apartments. Both are fully furnished as if the castle is still used as a private residence, together with important archives ranging from the 13th century until the present.
