Tyresö Palace

Castles & Country Houses, Gardens & Parks, Museums & Art Centres
Tyresö Palace, built in the 1630s for Count Gabriel Oxenstierna, Councillor of the Realm, is today open for the public. It is surrounded by a garden and an English park, designed by the landscape gardener Fredrik Magnus Piper in the 1770s.

Today visitors are shown a palace environment from the years around 1900. The last private owners, Claes and Caroline Lagergren, wanted to create a magnificent and comfortable home for themselves and their three sons. Claes Lagergren bequeathed Tyresö Palace to Nordiska museet in 1930.
