Brame & Lorenceau

Antiques & Art Galleries
Brame & Lorenceau remains faithful to their mutual passion for 19th- and 20th-century French paintings, works on paper, and sculptures, all the while extending its field of activity to include the post-war period.

Brame & Lorenceau was born from the fusion of two galleries both founded in Paris in 1864—one by Hector Brame, the other by Jean Lorenceau.
Continuing in the tradition of their ancestors, peers of the legendary dealers of the Impressionists, Brame & Lorenceau is still under the helm of their direct descendants, who, with their expanded team of 15 permanent staff, have made the gallery a favourite for collectors, amateurs, and professionals alike.
Expertise, Authentification, and Consultancy Services:

Brame & Lorenceau act as consultants to collectors, working with both established and new clients to provide guidance on a range of matters, from advice on insurance, tax issues and purchasing at auction, to storage, framing, and conservation (complete discretion is assured). As officially appointed and licensed experts, Brame & Lorenceau are qualified to provide appraisals for collectors, museums, insurance companies, and financial institutions, as well as evaluating and authenticating works of art for pre-eminent international auction houses, including Christie’s, Sotheby’s, and Hôtel Drouot.
A continued research of a number of authentication committees that gather internationally-recognized art historians and specialists, and in which Brame & Lorenceau actively participate. Each of these committees meets several times a year to expertise works submitted by auctioneers, private collectors, and galleries.
