Castle Corvey belongs to the Ducal House of Ratibor and Corvey. Formerly a Benedictine abbey, the baroque castle complex, under ducal ownership, is shortly due to be appointed a UNESCO World Heritage site.
With its nearly 1000 years' history of monastic life, the early medieval westwork, the baroque monastery, the princely library with about 75,000 volumes, its museum...a visit to Corvey is a fascinating experience.
